YEAR-ROUND PROGRAM (AGES 7-19)
Training for professional careers in ballet
The faculty is led by artistic director Darla Hoover and includes Charles Askegard, Maxim Beloserkovsky, Cynthia Birdwell, Olga Dvorovenko, Peter Frame, Jenna Lavin, Joseph Malbrough, Tara Mora, Francis Patrelle, Elizabeth Walker, Wendy Whelan and Cheryl Yeager. The permanent guest faculty include Nicholas Ade and Stacy Caddell.
SYLLABUS & CURRICULUM
The comprehensive BAE syllabus was created by Darla Hoover and is based on the teachings of Marcia Dale Weary. The syllabus is designed to develop technically strong, expressive ballet dancers, who ultimately can adapt to any style.
The Pre-Professional Ballet Division consists of nine levels. Each student is evaluated by the BAE faculty and placed into the level where she/he will benefit most from their classes.
The curriculum includes technique, pointe, partnering, variations, stretch, men’s weight training, modern and character.
For Parents of children entering level 1
Performing opportunities give students the chance to further develop their artistic and technical skills. BAE presents two annual student productions; the Studio Showing in February, and the Spring Performance in May. Click here to learn more about BAE performances.

MALE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Male dancers accepted to the Year-Round Pre-Professional Divison qualify for a full tuition scholarship.
To be considered for the Male Scholarship Program, register online for the next audition or submit a video audition.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT VISA PROGRAM BAE is accredited by the federal government to accept foreign students.An audition is required.

BAE has a fully furnished apartment located near the school, which houses a small number of male students. This housing is in high demand, and availability goes very quickly. Inquiries should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Once accepted into the program, registration is accepted online, by mail, phone at 212.410.9140, fax at 212.369.2723 or in person. Registration office hours are Monday through Friday from 10:30am to 6:30pm.

Audtions for the Year-Round Program are held in August and September at Ballet Academy East. Auditions for the Summer Intensive are held in May. Video auditions are also accepted.

August 24 - Sept 4, 2015
The BAE Summer Intensive is a two-week program for students ages 9-19. The program is designed to challenge professionally focused students. Admission is by audition. Students are placed in levels according to their ability and study with the BAE faculty and world-renowned dancers and teachers. The program is limited to 100 students.
The students' daily schedule includes ballet technique, pointe, varations, pas de deux, men's class, Pilates mat, modern and character.
Video audtions are accepted for the Summer Intensive.
