Wendy Amos:
Body Conditioning
Teaches Body Conditioning based on the principles of Joseph Pilates; MA, Teachers College, Columbia University; former student and company apprentice, Dance Theatre of Harlem; faculty, Alvin Ailey American Dance Center since 1977; faculty, Anatomy and Kinesiology, Marymount Manhattan College since 1997; faculty, BAE since 1996.
Dick Andros:

Former member, San Francisco Ballet, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, The Irene Hawthorne and John Begs Concert Companies and Eve Gentry's Company; choreographed and appeared in Pal Joey; appeared in Pajama Game; danced Curley in Oklahoma and later choreographed other productions; founded and directed, Dick Andros Theater Arts Center in Brooklyn for fourteen years; former faculty, New York School of Ballet;

Susan Antonaccio:

Shirley Bassat:
Open Ballet and Tap Classes
Studied with Vickie Sheer, Harry Asmus, Barbara Fallis, Richard Thomas and Dick Andros. She danced with Elena del Cueto, Dover Ballet, and U.S. Terpsichore. Taught at New York School of Ballet, Harkness Dance Center, Bronx House Music School, BOCES in Syocset, Usdan. Currently teaching at 92nd St. Y. BAE since 1989.

Jeanell Birk:

Originally from Chicago where she trained at the Lou Conte Studio of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.Graduate Marymount Mahattan College; major in Dance; performed Off-Broadway with the Kinetic Dance Theatre in "Move to Exit", "The Cyclone", and "The Sleeping Giant". BAE since 2003.

Born and educated in Romania; MA in dance; soloist and eventually ballet mistress for Fantasio Ballet Company for 12 years in Romania; became U.S. resident in 1992, where she teaches Russian and French techniques; faculty, BAE since 1999.

Julia Dubno:
Director
The founder and director of Ballet Academy East, began her ballet studies at the age of eight with Edwina Fontaine, later studied with Francis Patrelle, Dick Andros and Richard Thomas and subsequently attended the Juilliard School where she studied with Hector Zaraspe and Afredo Corvino as well as other noted teachers. Early in her studies at Juilliard she realized her true interest was in teaching and administration. In 1978, she was asked by her mentor, Christine Fokine, to run the Fokine Ballet School. That experience led to opening Ballet Academy East in a brownstone on East 79th Street with one small studio in 1979. Today the school has five spacious studios and a world-renowned faculty and continues to flourish. As director of the school, Julia Dubno continues to oversee the day-to-day operations and is in close contact with the faculty in order to be kept abreast of all areas of the school.
Olga Dvorovenko:

Former principal dancer and ballet mistress, Ukrainian State Academic Dance Ensemble; faculty, American Ballet Theater Studio Company; in 2002, was invited by ABT to dance the role of 'Madame' in Antony Tudor's "Offenbach in the Underworld"; faculty, BAE since 1998.
Peter Frame:
Senior Faculty Member of Graded Level Ballet Division
Joined New York City Ballet in 1976; was promoted to soloist in 1981; principal dancer, 1987-1990; co-creator of the New York City Ballet Workout and the New York City Ballet Workout Book; teaches injury prevention to male dancers at School of American Ballet; faculty, BAE since 1999.
Pia Fulchgoni:

received her Pilates certification while attending NYU, studying with Romana Kryzanowska; continued her education by receiving various other certifications including one from the American College of Sports Medicine; obtained a BA in liberal arts with a minor in theater from Rollins College; faculty, BAE since 2003.

Kathy McGowan:
Yoga
Is a BFA graduate of SUNY Purchase. She has toured nationally and internationally with Battery Dance, Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company, and Rod Rodgers Dance Company, as well as performing her own choreography in NYC. She has taught modern dance at Long Island University and SUNY Purchase. Ms. McGowan has taught yoga for dancers in Poland and Hungary in addition to her classes at BAE. Currently, she dances with Sarah Skaggs Dance and studies yoga with Shri Dharma Mittra; faculty, BAE since 2001.

Sal has also performed in nine Broadway shows including Baker Street, Dear World, with Angela Lansbury, and The Apple Tree with Alan Alda. He currently teaches jazz at the National Theatre Institute at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center, CT as well as the Harkness Dance Center and BAE; faculty, BAE since 1996.
Sabra Perry:

Trained at Canada's National Ballet School; former member, National Ballet of Canada and Merce Cunningham's Repertory Understudy Group; member of Complexions; principle dancer, Dances Patrelle; faculty, BAE since 1995.
Johan Renvall:
Graded Level Ballet Division and Open Ballet Classes
Born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. Admitted to the Royal Swedish Ballet School in 1972; became a member of the company and eventually came to the US to join American Ballet Theatre in 1978. In 1987, he was promoted to principal dancer. Mr. Renvall has performed in many ballets such as La Sylphide, Coppelia, The Nutcracker, Cinderella, and La Bayadere. In addition to these, he has made frequent guest appearances with the Royal Swedish Ballet, and performed the leading role in the motion picture, Dance; faculty, BAE since 2000.

Former member, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater; former Assistant Rehearsal Director and dancer, The Jamison Project; performed with Lar Lubavitch, Joyce Trisler, Francis Patrelle, among others; Assistant Rehearsal Director for the Broadway Workshop, "Down To Earth"; appeared on Broadway in "The Red Shoes"; has taught at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, STEPS On Broadway, Danspace, in New York and Central Pennsylvania Ballet school in Carlisle, PA; faculty, BAE since 1997.
