Primary Division: Ages 6-7 entering First Grade. The syllabus is specifically designed to prepare students for the requirements of Level 1 within BAE’s Pre-Professional Division or the Children & Teen Division. Students develop strength, coordination and flexibility as well as basic ballet vocabulary. Musicality and joy of dance are emphasized throughout the class. No audition or previous experience required.

Make-up Classes
Missed classes for holidays (except for the Winter & Spring Breaks), illness, or any other reason may be made up by appointment by contacting the front desk staff (in person, frontdesk@baenyc.com, or 212.410.9140). Make-ups may be arranged prior to the missed class.

Tuition Policies:

  • If you wish to change classes anytime during the school year, as long as there’s a spot, we’re happy to accommodate you.
  • Enrollment is ongoing, and tuition is prorated based on the week your child begins class. Please contact us at info@baenyc.com for tuition information.
  • There is a discount for siblings and enrolling in additional weekly classes. Please contact us at info@baenyc.com to activate the discounts.
  • Tuition is non-refundable. If you need to withdraw from your currently enrolled term, please email Amy MacDermott, Director of Admissions, within the first four weeks. You will receive a credit for future classes.

Students who identify as female: Light blue leotard, pink or flesh-toned tights and ballet slippers. Tutus and skirts are not permitted.
Students who identify as male: White T-shirt, black tights, and black ballet slippers.

School Policies
  • Please be on time for class.
  • Hair should be neatly pulled back.
  • Ballet slipper drawstrings should be cut or tucked in.
  • Please use the bathroom before class to avoid interruptions when possible.
  • Children must be supervised by their parents/caregivers before and after class. If you will be late picking up your child, please notify the front desk so we can arrange for a staff member to watch them until you arrive.
  • Please note that BAE is nut-free.
