We invite young dancers, ages 18 mos. – 6 yrs., to discover the joy and magic of dance at Ballet Academy East. The renowned BAE teachers and pianists create a warm and positive environment where children will develop their physical coordination, self-confidence, musicality, focus, and their love of dance.

Class Offerings by Age
Ages 18 mos. – 2.5 yrs.: Petit Dancers – Children and their parents/caregivers share the joys of dance and music through song and movement while learning group and individual participation.
Ages 3-6:
Pre-Ballet – Children are introduced to the beginnings of ballet.
Tap – Children focus on rhythm and timing while building physical coordination and musicality.

Make-up Classes
Missed classes for holidays (except for the Winter & Spring Breaks), illness, or any other reason may be made up by appointment by contacting the front desk staff (in person, frontdesk@baenyc.com, or 212.410.9140). Make-ups may be arranged prior to the missed class.
Under the leadership of Anne Kelly, the talented and friendly faculty guide students through their earliest years of dance.
Ballet
Ages 18 months: Students wear comfortable play clothes and are bare foot.
Ages 2 and up: Students who identify as girls – pink leotard, pink or flesh tone tights and ballet slippers. A single layer chiffon or fabric pull on skirt may be worn. No sparkle or sequin skirts. No tutus.
Students who identify as boys – white tee shirt, black shorts or pants, and black ballet slippers.
Tap
Students who identify as girls – any solid color leotard, pink or flesh tone tights, and black tap shoes. No skirts or tutus. Students who identify as boys – any solid color tee shirt, black shorts or pants, and black tap shoes.
School Policies
- Please be on time for class.
- Hair should be neatly pulled back.
- Ballet slipper drawstrings should be cut or tucked in.
- Please use the bathroom before class to avoid interruptions when possible.
- Children must be supervised by their parents/caregivers before and after class. If you will be late picking up your child, please notify the front desk so we can arrange for a staff member to watch them until you arrive.
- Please note that BAE is nut-free.

Tuition Policies:
- If you wish to change classes anytime during the school year, as long as there’s a spot, we’re happy to accommodate you.
- Enrollment is ongoing, and tuition is prorated based on the week your child begins class. Please contact us at info@baenyc.com for tuition information.
- There is a discount for siblings and enrolling in additional weekly classes. Please contact us at info@baenyc.com to activate the discounts.
- Tuition is non-refundable. If you need to withdraw from your currently enrolled term, please email Amy MacDermott, Director of Admissions, within the first four weeks. You will receive a credit for future classes.

Celebrate your child’s birthday with a ballet-themed party at BAE for an unforgettable day.
Your child’s special day begins with a ballet class. A fun warm-up leads into a personalized class with a festive birthday theme of your choosing. The children dance a ballet birthday story narrated by the teacher. Each dancer receives a crown or wand to dance with and keep at the end of the 45-minute class. The class is accompanied by a live pianist adding their own magic to the day.
Two studios are reserved for your child’s ballet birthday, both decorated with pink and purple helium balloons – one is for dancing, and the other will have children-sized tables, and chairs for cake and refreshments once the dancing is done. During which our live pianist will be playing atmospheric music within theme. Each party includes two – three highly trained, energetic teachers, a pianist, and a party host to ensure everything runs smoothly. We take care of the set-up and clean-up. Parents supply the paper goods, goodie bags, cake and any additional refreshments.

Up to 11 children: $895
12-18 children: $995
Up to 22 children: $1020
